ISQ MUN 2020

ISQ MUN 2020

ISQ hosted its third Model United Nations event. During the event, Middle and High School students were put to the test while discussing current global issues within different committees. Students were given a forum to hone their skills in negotiation, diplomacy, critical thinking, public speaking, writing, and research throughout this model. Model United Nations serves as one of the best opportunities for students to push themselves outside of their comfort zone and to learn how to speak up for the things that they believe in. This ISQ model featured important topics such as eugenics, PTSD in veterans, gender inequality, and the end of oil hegemony. Many ISQ students demonstrated their skill and preparation at the event and were rewarded when accepting awards in their respective committees.
The following is a list of all the students who received recognition in the form of awards. In the committee UN Women Valentina Aguilar Suarez was awarded the prize of Honorable Delegate; in General Assembly Alvaro Corona won Best Delegate and Brianna Stewart won Outstanding Delegate; in the World Health Organization committee Natapong Lindqvist won Honorable Delegate and Ingrid Coronel  took home the prize for Honorable Chair; in ECOSOC Maria Fernanda Snyder  won Best Delegate and Bernardo Fechter won Outstanding Delegate; in ACNUR, our first committee to be held entirely in French, Raphaelle Miot won Outstanding Delegate while former student Pablo Rostro Hinojosa took home Best Chair out of all other committees; in Security Council Axel López  won Best Delegate; in the Crisis committee Ivana Islas Pineda won Honorable Delegate; in OEA Abraham Fournier won Outstanding Delegate.
